Tuesday Wrap: While the Fed-Watchers Were All a-‘Yellen’…
Coming into the day, the talk of the tape was all about new Fed Chief Janet Yellen and whether or not she’d strike a match near the tinder pile of emotional and twitchy traders looking for any excuse to sell off the market. Since this was her first prepared speech in front of Congress, Fed-watchers were decidedly nervous.
While the Capitol Hill theatrics entertained financial media, traders and investors with their own money on the line quickly decided it was all smoke-and-mirrors and refocused their attention on what really matters… the stocks that are moving.
Today’s head spinner was Infoblox $BLOX which delivered a shockingly bad outlook that led investors to chop the stock in half!

But after the ugly opens for these stocks and the “Fed Show” was out of the way, Traders spent the afternoon bidding for stocks.

Even over at Walgreen’s, investors are feeling obliged to “smoke ’em while we got ’em” as the fallout from CVS’s recent decision to discontinue selling cigarettes has convinced investors this is (ironically) healthy for Walgreens…

Lastly and late in the afternoon, $SODA popped up on the StockTwits trending list as the stock surged 10%, building upon last weeks’ rebound.
