This morning, we have rolled out StockTwits sentiment and message volume charts on ticker pages.
The sentiment charts provide a nice snapshot of the mood of the stream for any ticker (stocks, ETFs, Indices, Futures & Forex). They display the percentage of bullish and bearish sentiment shared by StockTwits members calculated on a rolling seven day basis.
This is what the $LULU sentiment chart looks like this morning. Note the big hit it took at the end of February into the beginning of March:
The message volume charts provide a visual depiction of the change in social interest or social momentum. Its calculated on a seven day rolling average of message volume.
This is what the $LULU message volume chart looks like this morning. Note the recent extreme increase in social momentum as this strange Yoga Pants Story unfolds.
You can find these indicators at the top right on StockTwits Ticker Pages as tabs above the price chart.
ProTip: If you would like your view to be accounted for on the StockTwits Sentiment charts, be sure to click the Bull/Bear Toggle on the StockTwits message entry box.
Note: Some tickers do not have sentiment and/or message volume indications if there is not a sufficient amount of data.
