How to Use StockTwits: The Portfolio Stream

Many traders like to only follow a certain universe, or subset of stocks, commodities, or currency pairs when they trade. StockTwits allows you to do this with the Portfolio Stream. With the Portfolio Stream, you are able to filter out and view messages about a portfolio of ticker symbols that you choose.
How to Set Up and Use the Portfolio Stream
Setting Up the Stream
- Login to StockTwits w/ your Twitter Credentials.
- Click on the “My Portfolio” button on the upper right-hand corner.
- Enter in symbols that you wish to add to your StockTwits Portfolio, separated with a space or comma. Enter just the symbols, no preceding “$” is needed.
Viewing the Stream
On StockTwits
- Login to StockTwits w/ your Twitter Credentials.
- Click on the “Select a Stream” drop-down menu, located under the tweet box to the left of the symbol search field.
- Choose “Portfolio”
On Tweetdeck
- Login to Tweetdeck using your Twitter Credentials
- Click on the “$” button on the upper left-hand corner
- Select “Portfolio” Button.
