Earlier this month we launched the StockTwits Random Walk Index as a way to have some fun and take a serendipitous look into the market and the community. We figured it was a good time to check in and see how whats going on in the portfolio:
Below is the performance:

As you can see the random-walk is outperforming the $SPX by 130bps and all of its “benchmarks”. Meanwhile UpsideTrader is apparently crushing the Random Walk Index so far this month.
Below is the current sector breakdown.

Given the heavy weighting in the portfolio in Healthcare, its a bit surprising that the portfolio is outperforming.
The top 5 performers have been:
Liz Claiborne Inc $LIZ +21.8%
Brush Engineered Materials $BW +21.09%
BJ Restaurants $BJRI +18.15%
Cheniere Energy Partners $CQP +16.61%
MF Global Holdings $MF +15.21%
The bottom 5 performers have been:
Compellent Technologies $CML -23.42%
Wellpoint Inc $WLP -9.94%
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals $REGN -6.49%
Nektar Therapeutics $NKTR -6.25%
Energizer Holdings $ENR -3.46%
Some StockTwits Shoutouts and Ideas
@marketfolly recently pointed out that a hedge fund, Tremblant Capital is buying up top-performer $LIZ:

Back in March, @thestockjock made a great call on the possible breakout of $CQP:

@MOFinancial liked top-peformer $BJRI in their Lunch At the Markets video at the beginning of the month:
In addition some of our Suggested community members have been looking to buy the dip on our worst performer $CML (so far its worked):
